FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during my first visit to the clinic?

  • Your first visit will typically involve a comprehensive assessment, including a symptom scale, case history, physical examination, and cognitive screening. Our team will evaluate your condition to determine the best course of action for your concussion care.

What should I bring?

  • Upon booking your consultation you will be sent a confirmation email with forms to fill in. Please complete these, bring any relevant private health insurance, an incident form (if filled by your club) and other relevant baseline information such as video of balance testing

Can I claim on health insurance?

  • Yes, we are AHPRA registered practitioners which are accepted by most extras. Please check with your insurer to see if our Osteopath’s are covered on your plan.

How long is the consultation

  • Please allow approximately 30-45mins for your practitioner to complete a thorough assessment. This involves a comprehensive history and examination involving eye movement, neck movement, hearing and balance.

Do I need a referral from my primary care physician to schedule an appointment with your clinic?

  • While a referral is not required, we encourage you to inform your primary care physician about your concussion and our clinic's services. Collaboration with your healthcare team is essential for comprehensive care.

Do I need to bring my glasses?
  • Yes, please bring any prescription glasses as we will be testing your eye sight and want you to be at your best

What treatments or interventions does your clinic offer for concussions?

  • Our clinic provides personalised treatment plans that may include rest, symptom management, cognitive and physical rest, and gradual return-to-activity protocols. Treatment recommendations depend on the severity of your concussion.
